Cristóbal Colón o Christopher Columbus , se le puede llamar de las dos formas pero es la misma persona.
He was born in 1451 in * Genoa and Italian city, their parents were *humble *weavers and from a young age his passion was sailing the sea.
Colón oyó que los Portugueses habían llegado hasta la India y pensó en un nuevo proyecto; Ir hacia la India pero cruzando por el Océano Atlantico, para ello necesitaba dinero y embarcaciones así que fue a visitar al rey de Portugal, el cual rechazo su proyecto y lo trato de loco.
So he went to Spain trying to convince the Catholics *Monarchs to sponsor his project but they were *fighting against the moors in order to conquer Granada and it was imposible to established a negotiation. Also Columbus was so impatient about his project that his relation with the monarchy was deteriorating but *brother Hernando de Talavera talked to the monarchs and after this conversation they *changed their minds and finally sponsored the trip.
A partir de ahí la expedición comenzó, le costó encontrar marineros para su viaje porque no era conocido y para muchos era una locura su proyecto, los hermanos Pinzón acordaron acompañarle en su travesía. Sin más salieron del puerto de Palos en Huelva el 3 de agosto de 1492 con las tres carabelas (Pinta,Niña y Santa Maria).
The trip was really hard and *they thought to coming back to Spain but Rodrigo de Triana shouted *"Land, Land!! and on 12th October 1492 they discovered America which they thought first that was India.
